Primrose/Trobentice

Primula vulgaris sibthorpii (Hoffmanns.)

Description:

Violet/purple 5-leaved flower with yellow centre. Short growth. This is basically the same rose as is yellow common primrose, only its a subspecies and has different color. Its color can vary from pink to red to purple.

Habitat:

Forrest, meadows. Balkans, southwest Asia.

Notes:

This flower was a though one to grow out of bare wall behind our house. Didn't know that primrose could vary also in color. The most common one in Slovenia is a yellow primrose, which we can pick up and blow into it like in a small trumpet or eat it as a salad.
