Striped Albatross

Appias olferna olferna

Description:

about 2", light yellow, purple and white, this is the female

Habitat:

tropical rainforest

Notes:

I spotted this during a nightwalk at Erawan national park. The park can be intensely busy during the day but at night it is blissfully completely empty. Usually see moths at night but sometimes I spot sleeping butterflies.

Thanks bayucca. I'm not sure how I can verify this, you're the butterfly guy! I did look at pics of both and they appear to be the same species with different or older taxon like you said.

Definitely Pieridae and Appias sp., I am not sure if Appias olferna olferna (Thailand) and Appias libythea olferna (Sumatra for example) are the same species but from different areas or just identical with different actual/older taxon. Please, verify and let me know what you think.
And it is definitely the female!
