Auricularia angiospermarum
Wavy, brown, ear-shaped fruiting bodies that were 4-8 cm wide. They were very soft and fuzzy.
Growing on rotting hardwood in a deciduous forest.
Until recently, the North American species of Wood Ear was considered to be Auricularia auricula-judae. However, research has shown that Auricularia auricula-judae is not endemic to North America.
