Chamaea fasciata


This is an interesting small bird that resembles wrens and tits but is not related to either. The wrentit (Chamaea fasciata) is the only species in the genus Chamaea. A small bird with grayish brown to orange-brown plumage It has a long tail and a pale eye-ring.


Spotted at the Arcata Marsh Bird Sanctuary.


Ranges along the west coast of North America from Oregon to Baja California.
