Also, now that you know the ID of the spotting, you can fill in the information fields. You have done a fine job by getting the common and scientific name of the owl added. Now you can go to the Web and find basic information about the species. I like to put that in the "Description" category. You can also describe the organism with your own words if you like. "Habitat" is for the area where the spotting was made. I like to use the "Notes" portion for any information or story surrounding the spotting. Tell us all a little bit about how you came to spot the owl. I use it for the fun part of the spotting. :-)

My best suggestion to you since you're new to the site is to look at some other spottings and see what they look like when completed. Some are in need of more information, but you'll find plenty of them that are chock full of good info. Take a look around and enjoy! We look forward to more spottings from you. Welcome to Project Noah! :-)

Hi, Maria. All you have to do to join the mission is click the link provided by Christy in her comment. Then, when that screen comes up, click the green patch that says "Join this mission." You will have it in your dropdown list when you add/edit spottings. Each spotting is allowed up to 5 different missions, so you can join as many as you like, but can only apply 5 to a spotting. For example, a snake spotted in my neighborhood qualifies for "snakes of the U.S.," "reptiles of the world," "urban biodiversity," and "Bioblitz Oklahoma." I can put it in all of those missions and the spotting appears in each one. Make sense? :-)

Maria, all you do is click on the link and join that mission. After you have joined that mission, go to edit your spotting and click on mission, you will then find a pull down list of all the missions you have joined. You can place 5 missions on one of your spottings should they all apply

I am new to this...how do I place this in Raptor of North America? Will it remove it from my spottings when I post it into another mission?

Wow! What a roosting spot!! That's a screech owl! I'd love you to add this spotting to the mission Raptors of North America: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8627...
