Damselfly exuvia

Description:

A damselfly exuvia (plural exuviae) spotted, collected, and preserved by Matt Ryan (Project Noah spotter "matthewryanre"). Matt thinks this may be a cast skin of an Ebony Jewelwing damselfly. The specimen is shown on U.S.A. standard lined paper for scale. Editor's Note: Please don't try this yourself -- collecting specimens for observation is not allowed at Huntley Meadows Park. As a volunteer at HMP, Matt is authorized to collect specimens.

Habitat:

Huntley Meadows Park, a 1,425 acre wetland area in Fairfax County, Virginia USA. Related Resource: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/huntl...
