Asclepias tuberosa
This attractive milweed grows about .3–1 metre (10 in–3 ft) in height. Flowers are orange and sometimes somewhat yellowish. The leaves form a spiral around the stem and are lanceolate in shape.
Dry grasslands, usually in sand or gravelly soils in full sun.
This is a favorite nectaring plant for many species of butterfly and I've also photographed ants nectaring and drinking water from its flowers.
