Pygmy seahorse

Hippocampus bargibanti

Description:

This tiny seahorse lives in a very restricted area of the coral triangle, mainly in Indonesian waters. This particular individual was spotted on a reef about a mile from Wakatobi Dive Resort in Indonesia. He measures about 1 cm tall, maybe a little more. I suspect it's a male due to the distended belly, which indicates pregnancy. More info at http://www.arkive.org/pygmy-seahorse/hip...

Habitat:

Gorgonian coral

Welcome to Project Noah! Nice spotting. Where did you spot this? The map says Canada but the notes say it's from the Indonesia.
