Common pelican's foot

Description:

The pelican foot is a gastropod mollusk whose shape is closely related to its common and specific name. They have a spiral shell, up to 10 turns with a maximum length of about 5 cm. At the opening of the shell it has 4 pointed ribs that resemble the leg of a web-footed bird (with a membrane between the fingers), hence its name, pelican foot. The shell is yellowish or brownish.

Habitat:

On the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean Sea, after a storm.
