Arisaema tortuosum
This is a yam. The hooded bract and snakey like inflorescence give rise to the name snake lily, cobra lily etc. Indigenous people of the forest eat the tuber as a vegetable.
Leaves and inflorescence appear during the south west monsoons in the Western Ghats of India. Tubers remain dormant in the dry season.
