Stint; Little Stint

Description:

Dark coloured legs and bill; in summer plumage, upperparts are spangled chestnut and black, with a distinct pale V-mark on the back; non-breeding(winter season) it is greyish above and white below. Photo taken at Al Wathba Wetland Reserve, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Habitat:

Inland water bodies; marshy areas & muddy coasts

Notes:

Difficult to identify between little Stint & Temminck's Stint. Temminck's Stint has short, straight bill; Little Stint has a more mottled back pattern and dark black legs; Temminck's Stint has yellowish legs
