These Arctic Foxes on Yankicha Island in the Kurils were hunting for Crested Auklets which nest in their thousands here. At this time of year they were losing their heavy winter coat and were frequently yelping, presumably to announce territories.

they shed fur in the summer - how cool! and it makes sense - since when there is no snow having white coat means to stand out
