Orange Mycena

Mycena leaiana

Description:

Growing in a cluster surrounded by brown puffballs, these bright orange mushrooms really stood out. The cap, stem, and gills were all orange. Although, the gills were marginate - orange on the edges, while the faces were cream colored/lighter orange.

Habitat:

Growing on a rotting log surrounded by Stump Puffballs (Lycoperdon pyriforme) in a mostly deciduous forest.
