Western toad

Bufo boreas

Description:

Full grown and baby desert toad with a olive/ocher body and a distinct light stripe running from the nose to tail point

Notes:

This species is not considered to be common to the southern end of the Rockies into New Mexico but I have seen this toad many times. Found at a golf course club house headed back to their home in the scrub. The young was smaller than my pinky nail but had a kick you could not help but feel.
