The green lynx spider very seldom bites humans, and its bite is harmless though painful.
It is the largest North American lynx spider. Seen at Mason Farm Biological Reserve.

Hi Christine, thanks so much for the explanation. I was in a hurry and didn't read the description properly so I appreciate your thoughtfulness in explaining. And I put it in that mission. And thanks for your nice comment!
Hi Maria, I saw Ava's request and your question. Since I'm here I'll explain.
The common name of the Green Lynx Spider combines two types of animals: a feline (lynx) and an arthropod (spider). The mission that Ava asked you to join collects animals that have common names which share this trait. Another example they provided was the Swallowtail Butterfly (bird + arthropod). It has nothing to do with the second animal in the picture. Hope that helps!
Love the shots - especially the second one!
Hi Ava - are you asking because the spider is eating another insect? I don't know what the other insect was.
Maria, please consider adding this spotting to the Morphed Organism Names mission http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/1148...
