Yoyetta sp
"I am ready for the world" says this little freshly-baked Yoyetta, emerging from its restrictive brown skin on its final moult into an adult. Not as colourful as some in other spottings but it had amazing eyes, a yellow belly and sharp mouthparts. It took about 30 mins to straighten-up arch backwards, then forwards pulling it's tail out. All the time, its pink-margined wings were unfolding until they stretched out flat on either side of the body.
Spotted several of these on a curb near a highway.
This one would darken in another half-hour and become something like this http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/112... I sat watching this one emerge at mid-night along a relatively quiet highway!

Pictures are so clear and precise and they really make you understand the process of Eclosion.
Thanks everyone.

This job will turn you nocturnal.
Fantastic Leuba!
Wow! Impressive moment! Thanks for sharing
Thanks suzmonk.
Looks like you chose well, Leuba. As editors say to writers, as they delete big sections of text, "You're the only one who's gonna know there's something missing." But still, I do understand. In any event, wonderful photos ... patient, curious, caring photographer.
Thanks Cindy - I was so taken-up by this wonderful opportunity that I took over 50 shots and had to painfully select just a few...
Awesome timing and series!!!
