American Coot

Fulica americana

Description:

During my walk I came across this head and neck of a little Coot. It was being devoured by ants. There were two Bald Eagles flying overhead and they usually when they take Coot as prey, rip off the head and then eat the insides of the body!

Habitat:

Wetlands
