Swift Moth

Abantiades labyrinthicus

Description:

Very large , atleast 8cms in length , a very dark grey , almost black , with very elegant markings, truly beautiful. Inner forewings where a brownish colour , unfortunatly couldnt hold macro and wing up for a shot , and preferred not to disturb.

Habitat:

Found on a wooden bridge over a creek , in a resting stop surrounded by very large eucalypti and wattle tree's .

Notes:

Abantiades is a genus of moths of the family Hepialidae.There are 14 described species, all found exclusively in Australia.
