Golden-ringed Dragonfly

Description:

A large and distictive dragonfly, common across most parts of Europe.

Habitat:

Streams and sometimes small rivers, often in forests but also in open moors and heaths

Notes:

I found this particular individual still warming up in the still, chilled morning air - dew can be seen clearly on the wings.
