Spotting

Description:

This little guy is so small! It measured about 1/8" wide!!! I was lucky to see it at all. From afar, it looked like a white dot on the leaf.

Habitat:

Tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica 10 weeks into the rainy season.

I would also say it is some kind of a planthopper or derbid hopper.

It sure could be J. However, I have not seen any hoppers in my area with antennae yet.

It actually looks like a hopper to me, the facial appearance looks much like a hopper.

Thanks Forest! I hope it is a Whitefly, because a moth I.D. in this territory would be difficult!!!

I would bet that this is actually a species of Whitefly, Family Aleyrodidae. They resemble moths and are quite tiny.
