Coral Bean

Erythrina herbacea

Description:

The Coral Bean has distinct arrow shaped leaves. I've seen it as a shrub and a small tree. It has stalks with tube shape red flowers and produces a pod with bright red (poisonous) beans.

Habitat:

I've seen Coral Bean in sandy coastal scrub areas and in hardwood hammocks.
