Coin Vine

Dalbergia ecastaphyllum

Description:

I found this vine arching over the trail at Coconut Point Sanctuary. The leaves were about 5-6 inches long and had a thick leathery texture. I often find the flattened seeds washed up on the beaches.

Habitat:

I found this vine on the border between coastal sand dunes and a hardwood hammock.
