Oecophorid moth

Leptocroca sanguinolenta

Description:

A small cream coloured moth about 15mm long with apricot coloured fringe along the outer margin. The costal margins of the forewings were dark with the colour indenting the creamy surface in waves. The inner margin had a line of black specks. The antennae were swept back and there were a pair of recurved labial palps. Legs appeared to have feathery spikes.

Habitat:

Spotted inside the house during the day.

Notes:

First moth spotting this winter- a change from fungi ! He was not dead - just obligingly lay on his back for a couple of seconds... My thanks to dhobem for the ID. http://www.lepbarcoding.org/australia/sp...
