Description:

aka Eumicrotremus asperrimus. it's Japanese name is Konpeitou(金平糖 - コンペイトウ: a type of Japanese candy) because it has the small spiky look like the candy.

Habitat:

from the center photo, this fish is found around the seas from Hokkaido down to the Sea of Japan and is a deep sea fish. can't find any online info in english websites.

Notes:

this particular specimen was photographed in Echizen Matsushima Museum near Mikuni (about 1.5hrs drive south of Kanazawa city)
