Sumatra Pit Viper

Trimeresurus sumatranus

Description:

Saw this Pit Viper during day time, just a few meters from the entrance of the Botanical Garden at Tawau Hills Park. It was on a low ginger tree/plant, allowing us to take lots of close-up pictures of it. In Pic#2, a bug can be seen walking to its face, this Pit Viper usually stays still when resting and hardly moves unless disturbed or harassed.

Habitat:

Tropical forest
