White-crowned sparrow

Zonotrichia leucophrys


Adults have a striking black and white striped head. The body is grey, the wings are brown with wing bars. Yellowish bill and a long tail.


Spotted in thick vegetation at the Bayshore Preserve next to Oakland bay in western Washington.
