Yarrow

Achillea millefolium

Description:

when you rub the leaves between your fingers there is an aromatic smell!

Notes:

Although I haven't noticed it often elsewhere, there seemed to be quite a lot along the sides of this road

thanks for the ID by the way

Heya Selena; just to let you know, I've uploaded some photos of the flowers of the same plant (I think)! It wasn't in the same location, it was within a couple of miles. But they look and smell kind of similar

Not exact id as I don't have information for your exact location, but I recognize the plant well it is a type of yarrow....I have common yarrow growing in my garden, I hope this helps. This plant happens to love growing along side roads around my area (which is in the USA, NY area). It has a pleasant herbaceous aroma which is distinct and makes for easy identification.
