Common Chameleon

Chameleo chameleon

Description:

A wild 'Common' Chameleon (Chameleo Chameleon), photographed just outside Malaga, Andalucia. Despite the name, this is a threatened species - mostly because they share their love of coastal southern Spain with half a million Brits. The construction of holiday homes has turned the region into an overcrowded, sprawling metropolis and isolated this amazing species in ever-dwindling pockets of suitable habitat. Pretty much the same story for threatened animals the world over then!
