Aphantopus hyperantus
The Ringlet (Aphantopus hyperantus) is a butterfly in the family Nymphalidae. It is only one of the numerous "ringlet" butterflies in the tribe Satyrini.
Couldn't get close to this butterfly, but there re so few butterflies around, I thought I'd include it in case someone can identify this very poor shot...
The wiki list are good and bad. Often they not complete and you have to do a lot of clicking to search. I knew the group of butterfly this one might be in, so that helped. It is a pretty little one even if it did hide from you. I do enjoy your photos and thank you for sharing.
wow, thanks gatorfellows. I saved that link for the Irish butterflies, though it's a pity there are no photos besides the names, for an ignoramus like me!
