Grey and brown neutral colored wings (camouflage), ribbed with orange. Also some layered spots of grey, brown, and orange, taking the appearance of eyes (to ward off predators)
It was flying through the air when I saw it, and landed in the dried grass. I almost couldn't find it when I got around to taking a picture! It has great camouflage!

It's one of the Buckeye butterflies. Probably Common, but not sure, I think all three occur in that area.
