Field Cricket

Gryllus sp.

Description:

Dark brown to black crickets, 9/16 to over 1 inch long.

Habitat:

These crickets live in cool dark and damp habitats like caves, plumbing, under rocks, damp basements and inside privies. Chicken laying mash or dry dog food is excellent feed for raising crickets. Crickets spend the day in warm, dark cracks and crevices and emerge at night to feed.

Notes:

We happen to have chickens, gardens, and plenty of places to hide during the day!. The chickens and turkeys expect me to lift up tarps because they know there is a feast to be had.

I have no idea how those items got there. Thanks for pointing it out - I've re-posted and hopefully they'll stay put.

Could you please put the common name and scientific name in the spotting instead of what is there now?
