Rue Anemone or hepatica

Description:

Between six and eight white petals. Flowers are about an inch and a half across and stand about six inches high. The leaves in second photo may or may not be part of the same plant. No leaves evident in cluster photo, but they could be under the leaf litter.

Habitat:

Woodland, near a creek. Parfrey's Glen State Natural Area, Baraboo WI

Notes:

Someone has identified this as rue anemone using one app, and somebody else identified this as hepatica using a different one. Does somebody with more expertise know what this is? Thanks.
