Reef Triggerfish

Rhinecanthus rectangulus

Description:

Humuhumunukunukuapu'a, our Hawaiian State Fish. AKA the Reef Triggerfish, spotted on a crystal clear day at Hanauma Bay, Oahu, Hawaii. The red he is flashing on the pectoral fin is a warning sign. When aggravated further he will extend the "trigger" on the top of his head (also red) for which these fish get their names.

Great spotting. I've been trying to get a good shot of a trigger fish but haven't been able to get close.
