Description:

Evergreen bush with thick, waxy leaves that hold in the moisture in the Mediterranean climate. The flowers are clusters of small, pink blossoms. the fruit is edible and is usually eaten by sucking on it and spitting out the seeds. It is sour which gives it the common name.

Habitat:

Coast Sage Scrub at Jack's Pond Park.
