Penelopides manillae
Luzon Hornbill, male and female
Spotted them in the triple canopy rain forest of Subic Freeport. Olongapo,Zambales, Philippines.
I took these shots outside my bedroom window when we lived in the Kalayaan residential area inside Subic Freeport zone in Zambales. We live on a farm in Palawan and I never see anything like this here. I miss the every day parade of exotic birds. It helps to have your bedroom at the tree canopy level, rather than from below.
great colors here Diana
vibrant colores suggest how healthy these Tarictic are
hey, thanks for joining the mission
hope to see more feathered friends from your end
Beautiful! Your second and third shots still don't show up so you may want to upload them again.
These are great shots Diana. You may like to reload two images that do not display correctly. I have taken the liberty to juggle your feature image for one that works.
Diana, please consider adding this to the Philippine Endemic species mission: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8621...
