Description:

Body 4 mm. long with wings at least 6 mm.

Habitat:

Observed flying in open areas of a mesophytic forest of mixed hardwoods.

Notes:

These were unusually abundant on this warm, spring day with many of these insects flying in every open area for over a mile.
