We found this in the cricks of Chebeague. although they resemble a crustacean they are in a different subphylum

Habitat:

warm water shallows

Notes:

This was alive which is I hadn't seen before. When I was little I found dead ones but I have never seen one alive before.

Fantastic. What time of year was it? I wonder if they like to come ashore at the Cricks in the spring to lay eggs.
