Juvenile red-shouldered hawk

Buteo lineatus lineatus

Description:

Hawk. Likely a juvenile due to vertical streaking on chest. One atop the patio table's umbrella. When it flew off, I noticed another on the fence. Seen in early afternoon ~2pm.

Habitat:

Maryland, US.

Notes:

Any better guesses on ID? Could it be a juvi Cooper's?

Thanks, Liam, for the suggestion. I suspected it might be a juvenile since adult raptors around here don't seem to have vertical streakiness on their chests.

Christy, I'll happily add it. I was thinking how I didn't see that mission in my list, but then realized I have to go add the mission before it'll show up. I'll do so. Cheers!
