Been very busy, but I've tried to follow up on these beetle larve/pupas http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/117... http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/121... These photos (in this spotting) are the same individual, pupa and then adult. They're a clear match to images of Physonota alutacea on bugguide and other sites, so I think these spottings are all identified correctly (thanks to martini). The original adult I spotted though, (http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/112...) has a rather different coloration. It was spotted in the same area several weeks before I began to see the larva. I'm not entirely convinced it is the same species - I'd like to hear opinions please ...
