Zingiber spectabile
The flower of this plant is about 12 centimeters tall and is made out of pockets that has deep dip inside with a bottom that can support liquids and the edge of this plant is a lip that is folded over and curls under itself. The stem of this plant is long and thick to support the weight of its flower. The base of the plant is a mass of leaves that are linear shaped.
The habitat of this plant was on the floor of the Singapore American School rain forest and was situated next to a fern. The very bottom of this plant , close to the roots, was covered in fallen leaves.
