Trombidiform Mite

Description:

A hairy red mite with orange-red legs (relatively free of spines), body about 4 mm in length. These mites are predators and free living. A Trombidiform mite, not sure which family since there are more than 100 families now.

Habitat:

Found on a wall at night, near garden lights, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
