Description:

A perennial species of lily found in western North America; this particular subspecies is the provincial flower of Saskatchewan.

Habitat:

Undisturbed moist meadows & woodland. Does not tolerate grazing. Endangered or threatened in some eastern and southern U.S. states.

Notes:

Seen in Alberta along the highway from Glacier NP in the US to the turnoff for Waterton National Park in Canada.
