Hi Garratt, ID suggestion should be for a specific species & contain the common & scientific name & a reference link. If you don't know the exact species than it is OK to leave some general advice in the comments, though I suspect that Chuck knows this is a dragonfly & was hoping for something a little more specific!

I suggest a Great Blue Skimmer because of the dark wing markings; the small dot mid-wing edge and the dark around the front tips.
