Phantom Crane Fly

Bittacomorpha clavipes

Description:

Thin, short body, with 6 legs with larger padding on the end.

Notes:

This little guy never landed. He just hovered and rolled over everything in the house basically, but it took a good 10 minutes of following it around to get any good photos. I'm not sure what it is, but it was pretty interesting to watch.

I remember seeing my first Phantom Crane Fly. It is a sight to behold, the way they silently hover in a vertical position.
