Greek marginated tortoise (κρασπεδοχελώνα)

Testudo marginata marginata

Description:

A large hybernating Greek marginated tortoise (Testudo marginata marginata) in Goritsa hill Archaeological reserve, Volos city, Greece. Since we are expecting a harsh change of weather withing the next few days, this Wendesday I plan to go back to the hill, and try to locate the animal and cover it with more leaf litter, just to be sure she'll be OK :)
