Arion ater
This darling gets aprox 10 to 15 cm's long. The swedish name for it is "Svart Skogssnigel" that means "Black Forest Slug", and there's usually where one can find most of them, but also in parks and gardens. They are quite friendly and don't do particulary much damage to the garden though (at least not mine, and I grow a lot of veggies and salat). (It is the opposite to it's evil cousin; the Spanish slug (Arion Vulgaris), that eats most of the garden and then heads for the fridge without asking. Luckily they aren't spotted in my garden - yet.)
They are common in northern Europe.
