Jilguero/European goldfinch

Carduelis carduelis

Description:

In the winter goldfinches group together to form flocks of up to forty, occasionally more. This colorful birds are common in the Mediterranean part of Spain. Their song is appreciated which sometimes leads to their captivity. I much prefer to see them in the wild.

Habitat:

Rio del Algar. Altea, Spain.
