Description:

A tiny fly about 4mm long with a single black mark in clear wings and a very tidy head-eye arrangement. Eyes, thorax dark red, head, abdomen black.

Habitat:

Resting on Agapanthus leaf in outer suburban back yard.

Notes:

Yet to search for species. Thanks Stephen Thorpe for family... this little fly has modified forelegs for clasping onto females while mating. http://bie.ala.org.au/species/Parapalaeo...
