Medium ant; black with white stripe on rear; about the size of three-quarters of my thumb-nail

Habitat:

Found in the crater of Capulin Volcano, New Mexico, during the summer.

Notes:

There are two ants and one dead beetle in this picture. They were fighting over the beetle. The one on the right won.
