Pyrrhuloxia (hybrid?)

Cardinalis sinuatus

Description:

I think this could be a hybrid between the "Desert Cardinal" (Pyrrhuloxia) and the "Northern Cardinal" - I did see both species in this area, and the beak is pretty weird.

Habitat:

Garden area surrounded by desert.

Wow, definitely a weird bird! Bill does seem to be more for a cardinal, it's pretty orange and triangular. And the body has more red than usual. I've never heard of them hybridizing, but really it doesn't surprise me. Neat find!
